I’ve never hated Miz as much as I did weeks heading into WWE No Mercy. He’s that damn good of a heel. This feud just intensified his heel heat to greater levels and he totally killed it on the mic.

Dolph Ziggler. Wow. We all know he was once considered a show-stealer. At No Mercy, together with Miz, he did just that. As the A-Lister has said many times before, Dolph didn’t do anything meaningful for the past couple of years (except for that monumental Survivor Series win against The Authority) and just lose most of his matches. After putting his career on the line, Dolph made a 2016 Cavaliers game 7 comeback and finally ended Miz’ Intercontinental Championship run by defying all odds.

SmackDown may have produced the feel-good story in Heath Slater/Rhyno Tag Team Championship/I-need-the-job quest, but Ziggler-Miz is definitely their storyline/feud of the year, maybe WWE-overall too. This is how you make a great storyline RAW writers. It was so good the Intercontinental Championship title played like second fiddle or just a bonus reward. Everyone that followed the feud really got invested into it.

Despite TNA’s financial situation, there’s something, mostly positive, going for them – Broken Matt Hardy. His ‘Broken’ character is really creative and even had gotten the attention of non-TNA Wrestling fans. I must admit I thought it was a disaster of a persona at first..but now it’s even putting Jeff Hardy, or Brother Nero in this instance, on the backseat. Who would’ve thought that’s even possible, right?

There are questions and rumors about Bound for Glory regarding its status. If the show is ready to go in a few hours, the Broken Hardys will be facing Decay for the TNA Tag Team Championships, the bout Broken Matt dubbed as “The Great War”. Win or lose, the brothers have changed the wrestling landscape industry once again. If TNA gets bought by Billy Corgan or WWE, it’ll be interesting to see the fate of these two come monday.

With Brother Nero and his ‘family’ on his side, Broken Matt can conquer the wrestling world in a way that no one has ever done before, literally.

With SmackDown creating their own Women’s Championship, there were only 2 realistic choices: Nikki Bella and Becky Lynch. I’m glad WWE pulled the trigger and went for the more popular choice. After everything Becky has been put through this past year, it was only natural that she finally get what she deserved. With a pretty thin line of challengers for her title, I wouldn’t be surprised if Becky holds on to that title until the end of the year at least. Hope she gets established first as a formidable Women’s Champion. It’s really refreshing to see her be treated with respect.

AJ Styles. WWE World Champion. Who would’ve thought he’d accomplish this feat just a few months into his WWE tenure. The brand split may have fast-tracked his destiny but there’s no denying that he deserves to be the main man on SmackDown right now. Having won multiple titles in his illustrious career, the TNA World Heavyweight Championship and IWGP World Heavyweight Championship just to name a few, and finally winning the most coveted prize in the wrestling industry – the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, the Phenomenal One has earned the right to be called an All World Champion.

With Finn Balor relinquishing his newly won WWE Universal Championship, the door was open for someone to take that opportunity and become the top champion on the RAW brand. Big Cass, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens all fought for that chance in a Fatal 4 Way elimination championship match this past Monday. By the end of the night, and with controversy engulfing the finish of the match, Kevin Owens was crowned the new and 2nd WWE Universal Champion. Triple H swerved everyone by hitting Seth Rollins with the Pedigree and basically handed over the title to the Prized Fighter. Owens was shocked but he didn’t shy from that opening (as expected) and took the pin, with a mindset of winning the championship match at any cost. Regardless of the screwy finish, just as the crowd chanted that night, Kevin Owens deserved to be the Universal Champion. We’ll be watching the Kevin Owens show from now on.

Congrats Kevin! Here’s hoping you’ll have a monumental run with the Universal Championship. If anyone can bring prestige to the newly-created title, I’m 100% sure Kevin Owens can do it. Download this popularly-requested WWE wallpaper today!

Well well well who do we have here. Aside from Shinsuke Nakamura, one can argue that NXT has found itself another hot gem in the form of the GLORIOUS one, Bobby Roode! Often compared to Triple H, it’s easy to see why. From looks to wrestling prowess, Bobby has everything a top WWE Superstar needs. He wasn’t called the IT Factor back in TNA for nothing. He’s IT (not Y2J’s IT btw).

A lot of fans think it’s an abomination for Roode to be staying in NXT instead of being on RAW or SmackDown. If you ask me though, I’m 50/50 on that topic. It might be good for him to stay there for just a few couple of months first to build his hype (much like Kevin Owens’ short stint in NXT) and then have him enter the 2017 Royal Rumble. Imagine his Glorious theme hitting the speakers. The fans would POP AND SING heavily with it! 2017 can be the Glorious year of Bobby Roode.

I haven’t been able to get rid of that Glorious theme out of my head for days now. It really is that GLORIOUS!

I think this is the first time in WWE history where 2 Japanese wrestlers are currently the top champions on their respective divisions in a WWE promotion. Indeed (cue Funaki) it’s a new era in WWE/NXT. The enigmatic Shinsuke Nakamura just won the NXT Championship from Samoa Joe at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II and the sultry but dangerous Asuka has been the top competitor in NXT Women’s division, successfully and dominantly defending her championship title against every challenger, from Nia Jax to Bayley. These 2 have been top draws for NXT for quite a while now and will continue to be the main eventers for months or years to come until someone from their divisions finally dethrones them. For Nakamura, the list of possible challengers include Samoa Joe, Bobby Roode, Austin Aries or even No Way Jose. And of course, down the line, Hideo Itami. As for Asuka, well, only 1 comes to mind and that’s the newcomer Ember Moon. Personal favorite Billie Kay is a no-go right now. It’s pretty thin right now in NXT’s Women’s division so expect the Empress of Tomorrow to have a stronghold on that Women’s Championship Title.

A SummerSlam main event featuring Balor vs. Rollins? You just know it’s truly a new era in WWE. These 2 former indy darlings are headlining WWE’s biggest summer event (along with Lesnar vs. Orton and Ambrose vs. Ziggler) and who would’ve known 3 or 4 years ago that this will be made possible.

Seth Rollins has been on quite a roll since coming back. He’s already great and now, he even stepped up his game another notch. No one in RAW’s roster is more deserving of the newly-created WWE Universal Championship than him. Not Kevin Owens. Not Roman Reigns. And yes, not even Finn Balor imho. However, if Vince and co. are hell-bent in pushing The Demon to the moon and awarding him RAW’s top title in less than a month, then not even Seth’s brilliance can stop it. Balor is special no doubt, but to be the Universal Champ in just a few weeks after his debut? That’s too soon man. For those haven’t seen his work in NXT/indies yet, let them care about the man first. It’s pretty obvious right now that most of WWE’s casual fans haven’t connected with Balor yet. If they do proceed in making that huge gamble, I hope they can make it work and avoid ruining the potential this man has.

This much-anticipated rematch between The Phenomenal One and the leader of Cenation is finally going to happen at the biggest event of the summer. The first one was nothing but a setup to make things heated between the two. The Battleground match wasn’t one on one so it didn’t have any real bearing. This one matters though. It’s not only about one winning against the other, but it’ll be to determine who will be WWE’s franchise player moving forward. No disrespect to Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, but these 2 have much more star power than those two currently have IMHO.

WWE should do the right thing here and have AJ Styles finally get a decisive win against John Cena. AJ’s not gonna go another 10 years and should be the top dog in the WWE ASAP or they risk losing revenue potential especially since Styles has the ability to become the next mega face of this industry, just like he was when he was still in TNA. Cena would still be the mainstream/popular choice even if he loses. Do it, WWE.
