As we look back on the memorable WWE moments of 2012, let’s be thankful of the wrestling goodness we got this year. From Daniel Bryan’s rise to stardom to CM Punk’s 400+ days of WWE Title reign, 2012 was totally spectacular, regardless of some disappointments (John Cena as WWE Superstar of the Year, RAW going 3 hours, etc). We’ll always get those. Good thing we’re headed to a very promising 2013, with Rock coming back (again), Ziggler breaking the ceiling anytime soon, young prospects (The Shield, Big E Langston) being groomed well and the likes of CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and Ryback getting ready to take up the reins off Cena, soon.

We close this epic year of 2012 with the current title holders in the WWE. Most of these champions are the future of WWE. Punk and Bryan were both revelations that started last year. Kofi is one heel turn away from getting out of the midcard. Wade Barrett made a last-day attempt to win the Intercontinental Championship from Kofi Kingston..and he did just that. Be ready for the Barrett Barrage this 2013. Antonio Cesaro, what can I say? Probably one of the fastest rising WWE Superstars today. Divas Champion Eve is currently dominating the very weak Divas division (until new blood comes in for help). Team Hell No will own the tag team division until they finally go their separate ways, with Bryan hopefully challenging for the WWE/World Heavyweight Championship. Lastly, as an added bonus, Dolph Ziggler. The hottest commodity on the planet right now. I’m predicting he’ll be the Superstar of the Year in 2013, though Ryback/Punk may have something to say about that.

Videogame AND wrestling fans, October 30 (US) is just 2 days away! You know what I mean..WWE ’13! This year’s rendition will feature more WWE Superstars by adding the most popular wrestlers during the Attitude Era such as Stone Cold, The Rock, Val Venis, The Godfather, Ken Shamrock, APA and so many more! The WWE PG roster has been updated of course and we’ll see the likes of CM Punk, The Rock 2011, Damien Sandow, Masked Kane 2011, Antonio Cesaro and Big Hungry himself, Ryback! No reason NOT to get excited about that! Of course, WWE ’13 will feature enhancements on their game engine named Predator Technology 2.0. Season modes include Universe and Attitude. We’ll also get Eddie Guerrero and the Doctor of Thuganomics version of John Cena (that’s a personal favorite). And AJ Lee. Ahh can’t wait!

Is it Ryback’s time to be on top of the foodchain? I think yes. FEED HIM MORE!

There’s a lot of debate goin’ on right now regarding the Big Hungry’s quick, mega push to the WWE Championship scene. Some say he doesn’t deserve his spot right now, which to a certain degree I may have to agree..and some say that it doesn’t matter because everyone is slowly getting behind him nowadays. Whatever the case may be, for me, as long as he can draw money, ratings and prominence for WWE, I’m all for him being the next WWE Champion. CM Punk’s reign has been impressive yes but when you look at the situation, it’s a lose-lose situation for both competitors since Sunday may mark the end of Punk’s 300+ day reign as WWE Champ OR it may mark the end of Ryback’s potential to be the next big star if he loses. If anyone can take a hit, it’s CM Punk and I truly believe he’ll be WWE Champion again in the next few months especially The Rock is coming back soon. For now, I think it’s Ryback’s time. WWE put themselves in this position, now they must back Ryback’s push up.

The unholy alliance of these 2 mega personalities have every wrestling fan intrigued right now. CM Punk, together with Paul Heyman, is an explosion waiting to happen. They’re like landmines, you wouldn’t know what they will come up with every single RAW moving forward. This is probably the most (legit) rebellious tandem in wrestling history. As most of us know, these two just don’t conform with the norm. Both Punk and Heyman are equipped with unique minds and they always use it to make strong points.

Now that CM Punk is demanding attention and respect from everyone, he’s back to being the rebellious guy. The fire still burns. He seems to be more motivated and edgier when he knows he has to make a point, when he has to prove himself. His feud with Cena never gets old (at least for me) because it’s the perfect angle for him. Unable to main-event the past 7-8 PPVs despite holding and defending the WWE Championship while John Cena main-events all of them (except Royal Rumble and SummerSlam) even when he’s not in the title picture, CM Punk has had enough. His constant need to be the top guy, and be respected for it, makes him hungrier even when he’s already the WWE Champion for more than 300 days now. That alone deserves respect.

With Heyman joining his crusade, who knows what will happen each week from now on. They might form a group to back them up or just remain acquaintances and annihilate anyone who goes against their ideals.

What’s the most intriguing and compelling WWE storyline of the year so far? No it’s not Big Show’s “I should be a giant” crap..

Yes..yes yes yes it’s the CM Punk-AJ-Daniel Bryan saga, with AJ grabbing the opportunity to make a name for herself. Some say CM Punk as WWE Champion is being overshadowed by this. If you look at it that way, it does have a point..but with this angle being SOOO exciting to watch, I bet Punk doesn’t mind. This has propelled their trio to end RAW two straight weeks now and effectively kept John Cena from hogging majority of the closing segments of RAW each week. AJ has done a masterful job of portraying a crazed character, even showing a range of different emotions and actions (smiles but then slaps the crap out of you) but still trying to maintain some sort of sanity as she tries to get everyone’s attention, especially Punk and D-Bry. Even JR has taken notice and gave praise of her act. She has added intrigue and suspense to the WWE Championship match at Money in the Bank by being named the special guest referee. Will she be partial? I doubt it. Will she scrap the tweener tag, turn heel and side with Daniel Bryan, making him the new WWE Champion? Or will she finally extract revenge on her former boyfriend and keep the belt on Punk? Let’s find out in a few hours.

AJ has truly captured our hearts, especially men haha. With tons of male fans on her side, her appeal and spot on WWE’s main storylines has already been solidified. AJ = Respect! CM Punk and Chris Jericho, as expected, had the best technical wrestling match at WrestleMania 28. These 2 definitely wanted to steal the show though HHH-Undertaker is up there as well. Punk and Y2J told a great story, especially at the start of the match, with Punk trying to contain his anger so he won’t get disqualified (he’ll lose the title that way) and Jericho egging him on to do it. Both competitors brought their A game and they didn’t disappoint. With Jericho tapping to the Anaconda Vice, CM Punk proved to everyone that he truly is the Best In The World now.

After trolling the WWE Universe, Y2J has revealed his true mission. He came back to reclaim what he thinks is truly his and that’s being the best in the world. We all know CM Punk has been telling everyone that he’s the best since last year. Time and time again since Money in the Bank 2011, he has proven that he really is the best right now. With Chris Jericho making his intentions clear, how will CM Punk respond to this challenge? WrestleMania 28 will be their battle ground and whoever wins that match will have the bragging rights to say he’s the best in the world AND the prestigious WWE Championship. Though as much as they’re fighting for the BITW rights, this should be more about the WWE Championship. I think both wrestlers already know that. Hope the fans do too.

This is going to be the purest wrestling match in this year’s WrestleMania. With John Cena and The Rock already main-eventing WrestleMania 28, this match won’t end the show so the best Y2J and Punk can do on that day is totally steal the show. A tough one to do especially if you have Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Championship and Triple H vs. The Undertaker in a HIAC match. With these 2 future WWE Hall of Famers though, it won’t be impossible. Sheamus is the 2012 WWE Royal Rumble Winner and has earned the right to face either the WWE Champion CM Punk or the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 28 in Miami. It has been one heck of a ride for The Great White these past couple of months. After turning face, he was able to break his losing slump and found a renewed strength to work his way to the main event ranks again. He feuded with the likes of Mark Henry, Jinder Mahal, Christian and came out looking a lot better and sharper in the ring as months go by, especially leading to the WWE Royal Rumble event. The man is on a mission to win the championship again and he may very well do so in WrestleMania 28. As for the opponent he’ll be choosing, it’s pretty obvious that he’ll go for Daniel Bryan’s World Heavyweight Championship but you’ll never know he might pull a swerve and challenge CM Punk instead.

Will we see Sheamus regain his spot on the top of the WWE ladder again on WrestleMania 28? We’ll find that out a few months from now.
