The makeshift team of Randy Orton, Sheamus and Big Show looks odd especially considering how Sheamus is the only WWE Superstar left  from the Cena-Ryback-Sheamus superteam involved in this long feud against The Shield. Both John Cena and Ryback have their hands full on The Rock and Mark Henry respectively while Sheamus has been included in another superteam that makes another attempt to finally stop the roll The Shield is in right now. Even though Randy Orton and Big Show are suitable replacements for this 3 on 3 matchups, I still see the team of Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns prevailing on the grandest stage of them all. WrestleMania 29 will mark another chapter on The Shield’s impressive journey to historical relevance by scoring another win on this team battle. What’s next for these 3 rookies is anyone’s guess.

Also, is everyone ready for the Orton heel turn? WrestleMania 29 looks like the perfect time to do it (*cough* Cena *cough*).

Alberto Del Rio’s babyface persona hasn’t gone very well these past few months. Yes the fans are cheering for him now but they can barely sustain it throughout his matches. This is where Jack Swagger comes in. He comes with a revamped gimmick and renewed aggressiveness. Zeb Colter adds the little things that make Swagger one of the most hated heels in the modern era. The issues he and Zeb touch on are complicated and quite sensitive especially for foreign immigrants. Supposedly, this should make for a perfect recipe between Del Rio’s Mexican hero gimmick versus Swagger’s America..but it wasn’t able to sustain its initial publicity and thus a lot have already lost interest in what supposed to be one of the most intriguing storylines in a while now. With that said, both Alberto and Jack have been hit with huge hurdles along the way. I believe they can still pick up some steam towards WrestleMania 29 and make this feud worth watching every week. We’re almost guaranteed of a good wrestling match at WrestleMania – it’s the build that needs some fixing.

Through all of this though, Zeb Colter has been gold on the mic. The mocking videos were quite entertaining too.

This feud kicked into high gear just a few hours ago when CM Punk decided to disrespect WWE’s/Undertaker’s tribute to the late Paul Bearer. It also drew the ire of Kane (predictably) and the Big Red Machine totally wenk berserk on Punk. Granted the Straight Edge Superstar got the last laugh by assaulting Kane with Bearer’s urn and eventually mocking Undertaker on the stage, it also became apparent that Punk just signed his ‘death’ certificate for WrestleMania 29. The Phenom is totally pissed off and it’s only a matter of time before the Deadman adds Punk to his list of WrestleMania victims. This is just not a matter of getting respect anymore, nor cementing their names in WrestleMania history. This has become personal. Someone’s gonna get his ass kicked big time. CM Punk’s gonna get his for being a total jerk, storyline-wise of course.

Kudos to everyone, from Bearer’s sons to The Undertaker himself, for making this feud mean a lot more now than what it was before. And of course, Paul Bearer, thank you so much for your last contribution to wrestling. I’m pretty sure Punk and Taker will certainly make this feud memorable as their tribute to you, William Moody. Again, thank you and rest in peace man. You’ve already done a great job for us wrestling fans.

Greatness vs. Redemption. The Rock vs. John Cena II. Once Twice in a Lifetime.

Lots of positive and negative reactions all over the web on this 2nd WrestleMania match between these two megastars. One thing’s for sure though: No one can deny the money that these 2 can bring to the company. Regardless if we like or hate this WrestleMania rematch, people will still pay to see this match happen. Hopefully, they won’t disappoint this time. Everyone wants to have their money’s worth so let’s just hope that Rocky and Johnny pulls a shocker and gives us a classic.

As for the winner, it’s pretty safe to assume that Cena will win to even their score at 1-1 and eventually become the WWE Champion..again. That scenario will only be tolerable if Cena finally turns heel and usher a new era in WWE. Looks like it’s a real possibility at WrestleMania 29. Let’s see what happens.

Last week, Kupy Wrestling Wallpapers released a new The Rock wallpaper inspired by his latest Brahma Bull / Just Bring It shirt design. Today, it’s his current nemesis’ shirt design, CM Punk’s Knees 2 Faces! Most of us already know that this is a knock to The Great One’s Boots to Asses shirt design before. CM Punk’s epic title reign is getting more epic by the day in this age, regardless of how he has defended the WWE Championship since his heel turn. Being a wrestling champion, in general, for more than a year should be commended. With The Rock lurking in the background though, we may not see Punk hold the title any longer either after Royal Rumble or Elimination Chamber (depending on WWE’s WrestleMania 29 plans).

The Rock made another triumphant return to RAW (and SmackDown!) last week and started 2013 with a huge bang. His exchange with CM Punk was one for the ages, both men making strong cases for themselves and separating them from the rest of the pack. You can truly feel the intensity between the two megastars, something we didn’t truly see in the Rock-Cena feud. The Rock entertained the millions of his fans and gave them a reason to order the 2013 Royal Rumble PPV. Man, I can’t wait for that. Also, the Cookiepuss reference, I’ll leave that to you guys if you think it’s witty or lame.

The unpredictability of whether The Rock will be able to capture the WWE Championship again or not makes it undeniably intriguing, especially with the Road to WrestleMania 29 just around the corner. Will CM Punk retain and give credibility to his historic reign? Or will the Great One finally end Punk’s streak and become WWE Champion once again?

As we look back on the memorable WWE moments of 2012, let’s be thankful of the wrestling goodness we got this year. From Daniel Bryan’s rise to stardom to CM Punk’s 400+ days of WWE Title reign, 2012 was totally spectacular, regardless of some disappointments (John Cena as WWE Superstar of the Year, RAW going 3 hours, etc). We’ll always get those. Good thing we’re headed to a very promising 2013, with Rock coming back (again), Ziggler breaking the ceiling anytime soon, young prospects (The Shield, Big E Langston) being groomed well and the likes of CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and Ryback getting ready to take up the reins off Cena, soon.

We close this epic year of 2012 with the current title holders in the WWE. Most of these champions are the future of WWE. Punk and Bryan were both revelations that started last year. Kofi is one heel turn away from getting out of the midcard. Wade Barrett made a last-day attempt to win the Intercontinental Championship from Kofi Kingston..and he did just that. Be ready for the Barrett Barrage this 2013. Antonio Cesaro, what can I say? Probably one of the fastest rising WWE Superstars today. Divas Champion Eve is currently dominating the very weak Divas division (until new blood comes in for help). Team Hell No will own the tag team division until they finally go their separate ways, with Bryan hopefully challenging for the WWE/World Heavyweight Championship. Lastly, as an added bonus, Dolph Ziggler. The hottest commodity on the planet right now. I’m predicting he’ll be the Superstar of the Year in 2013, though Ryback/Punk may have something to say about that.

With the recent attacks on Ryback, Tyson Kidd and Santino Marella, one can’t help but wonder what truly are the motives behind The Shield’s attacks. They say that they’re about honor. That they’re about principles. That they are the shield from injustice. I say the attack on Kidd and Marella were just diversions from their real mission and that’s to protect CM Punk. Paul Heyman must be the mastermind of these stable. We’re lead to believe that they act on their own but most likely they’re really don’t. We’ll see in the coming weeks if these collection of highly-regarded wrestlers are really what they say they are because no one’s believing them, yet. As for their capabilities, little is known about Roman Reigns..but for the other two, they’re almost like legends in the indy scene. Dean Ambrose can certainly burn the mic and has a very compelling personality. Seth Rollins..what can you say? It’s said that he’s the most complete of the group and it’s just a matter of time before he becomes a household name and a bonafide WWE Superstar. I see him being more successful as a face and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s the only one who turns face when The Shield is no more. The comparisons to CM Punk can’t be ignored too.

From main-eventing WrestleMania 27 to jobbing to lower-card WWE Superstarts, The Miz experienced one of the biggest career drops in WWE history in just a span of a year and a few months. With the rise of CM Punk to stardom and the likes of Alberto del Rio and Dolph Ziggler getting huge pushes, the Awesome One was forced to sidestep and give way to these stars. After coming back and winning/dropping the Intercontinental Championship, it was almost like last year again. This time though, after paying his dues, a new life has been seen on Miz’ career.

The past few weeks we’ve seen The Miz toy with the idea of turning babyface. Even though he joined Mick Foley’s team at Survivor Series, in which he got eliminated before Randy Orton, there’s always this thing that you can’t trust about the guy. He’s not yet a full-fledged good guy. We’ll see if he continues this or if he’s just making this up. Miz has a long way to go before earning everyone’s trust (and that includes myself) since it won’t be an easy ride from hereon. He’s a natural heel and we’ve yet to see how he truly works as a babyface, whether it suits him or not. I personally believe that he needs to stop mentioning his WM27 win and bragging about him being a former WWE Champion. He should act like he’s never won anything yet. That would make him hungrier and will have a big chip on his shoulder to prove to everyone that he truly belongs (and stay) in the main event scene. Let the memories of WrestleMania 27 and his previous WWE Championship run turn into dust, at least for now.
