I thought I wouldn’t see the day Undisputed Era break up and go their own different ways (despite Adam Cole’s rock-solid heel persona), but here we are. The bitter rivalry between Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly has reached the boiling point. Given their rich history, being synonymous to each other, this NXT TakeOver match will probably steal the show, even though we have Finn Balor vs. Karrion Kross for the NXT Championship. Hardcore NXT fans, I believe, are most excited for this match over any other matchups this weekend–and you can include WrestleMania 37, too.
Balor has been a really, really great NXT champ–but just like the sinister duo of Scarlett and Karrion Kross has always warned, time’s up. Tick tock.
NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver is looking stacked! Like this year’s WrestleMania 37, this ppv will have 2 nights of NXT wrestling goodness. Finn Balor (c) vs. Karrion Kross for the NXT Championship for night 2 is a no-brainer. Whether it’s the Prinxe retaining or Mr. Doomsday regaining the NXT Championship he never lost, the fans are gonna be the real winners.

When I posted the 2020 WWE Year-End Champions wallpaper yesterday, someone suggested that I make one for AEW too (thanks man!). So I thought, maybe I should do both AEW and NXT, right? But since it’s already 2021, I went for a 2021 Day 1 Champs approach for this wallpaper version.

Arguably the biggest heel on the wrestling planet today, Tommaso Ciampa has cemented himself as one of the very best villains in WWE history. Now, he’s the man on top of NXT and that’s the perfect way to rub it in everyone’s faces that he’s our NXT Champion and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. With Johnny Gargano and, now, Aleister Black in this championship mix, it’ll only add intrigue as to how everything will unfold in the next couple of months. The Ciampa-Gargano seems far from over by any means so Triple H and co. might be milking this until the fans can’t take it anymore. Right now though, we wouldn’t mind another bout between the two especially now reports have surfaced that Aleister just sustained a groin injury that might sideline him for a couple of weeks. Bad timing for him since he might not be able to use his rematch clause at this month’s NXT Takeover. Hopefully he recovers in record time as it’ll be a shame if he wouldn’t be able to compete at the PPV especially while this 3-way feud is still going hot.

The mysterious and charismatic NXT Superstar overcame the very game Andrade Cien Almas (who btw is rumored to be making his main roster debut anytime now) and Zelina Vega’s multiple interferences enroute to capturing the coveted NXT Championship. A rare smile was also seen as he was holding the title, quite a scene for someone like him lol. The most hardcore NXT fans are completely behind him so it was a no-brainer for him to win, especially on the night before WrestleMania. I’m intrigued to see what he does with this reign.

Well well well who do we have here. Aside from Shinsuke Nakamura, one can argue that NXT has found itself another hot gem in the form of the GLORIOUS one, Bobby Roode! Often compared to Triple H, it’s easy to see why. From looks to wrestling prowess, Bobby has everything a top WWE Superstar needs. He wasn’t called the IT Factor back in TNA for nothing. He’s IT (not Y2J’s IT btw).
A lot of fans think it’s an abomination for Roode to be staying in NXT instead of being on RAW or SmackDown. If you ask me though, I’m 50/50 on that topic. It might be good for him to stay there for just a few couple of months first to build his hype (much like Kevin Owens’ short stint in NXT) and then have him enter the 2017 Royal Rumble. Imagine his Glorious theme hitting the speakers. The fans would POP AND SING heavily with it! 2017 can be the Glorious year of Bobby Roode.
I haven’t been able to get rid of that Glorious theme out of my head for days now. It really is that GLORIOUS!
I think this is the first time in WWE history where 2 Japanese wrestlers are currently the top champions on their respective divisions in a WWE promotion. Indeed (cue Funaki) it’s a new era in WWE/NXT. The enigmatic Shinsuke Nakamura just won the NXT Championship from Samoa Joe at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II and the sultry but dangerous Asuka has been the top competitor in NXT Women’s division, successfully and dominantly defending her championship title against every challenger, from Nia Jax to Bayley. These 2 have been top draws for NXT for quite a while now and will continue to be the main eventers for months or years to come until someone from their divisions finally dethrones them. For Nakamura, the list of possible challengers include Samoa Joe, Bobby Roode, Austin Aries or even No Way Jose. And of course, down the line, Hideo Itami. As for Asuka, well, only 1 comes to mind and that’s the newcomer Ember Moon. Personal favorite Billie Kay is a no-go right now. It’s pretty thin right now in NXT’s Women’s division so expect the Empress of Tomorrow to have a stronghold on that Women’s Championship Title.
