Xia Li’s journey to her SmackDown debut is what should be one of the basic blueprints for how the creative should introduce NXT wrestlers to the WWE Universe. Her character has been properly laid out and had already resonated with the fans. Despite her stature, ‘The Protector’ persona, with a little bit of augmented reality graphics (the lightning and particle effects were awesome!!), and immediately proving it by coming to the rescue of Naomi against the trio of Sonya Deville, Shayna Baszler and Natalya, was easily established on her debut alone. The series of comic-style vignettes that told the story of Xia’s beginnings and philosophy solidified of course had a lot to do with it, too. I personally became a fan in just one SmackDown show.
Now if only Vince and co. put this kind of effort on the likes of Karrion Kross and Keith Lee (not the half-hearted ones they were poorly subjected to), who knows what would have been.
Fresh off a title swap with Charlotte, the RAW Women’s Champion looks to continue her dominance on the division by defending her title tonight against the EST of WWE, Bianca Belair. I see her retaining, but it’s entirely possible that Bianca pulls off the big upset here. We’re in for a slobberknocker for sure!
Big Time Becks, The Man, Becky 2 Belts, The GOAT–whatever it is she’s portraying, Becky Lynch is and will always be money.
Being one of the last soldiers or old pillars of the black and gold NXT, Tommaso Ciampa continues to prove why he’s not going anywhere, despite a slew of NXT newcomers threatening to ‘erase’ what’s left of the previous era. Even a stud such as Bron Breakker will have to try again to unseat the current NXT Champion. Ciampa is trying to delay the inevitability of passing the torch to the next generation. The man has been to countless wars, and his experience will always be his trump card. Until then, Goldie remains at the arms of the one and only Tommaso Ciampa.
Liv Morgan recently posted her cosplay of Chucky, and man, what a sexy Chucky it was. Granted her version of it is on the PG side, I decided to make a more edgy look from one of her photos from that specific set. For Liv fans out there, I’m sure you’re gonna love this as your phone wallpaper!
Having played Assassin’s Creed Valhalla for almost a year now, I’ve associated Malakai Black’s AEW persona to the pagan druids in the game. Thus, the inspiration for this wallpaper design. Even after being bested by Cody Rhodes last night, Malakai has established this intimidating and unique character. Fans are clearly behind him, even as a heel. I’m loving his work.
This design wouldn’t be possible without this great shot of Malakai’s cool entrance by Scott Lesh! He’s a pro wrestling enthusiast and photographer. Thanks again, man! Click here for his Twitter profile.
Is it a foregone conclusion that The Demon will get his first loss against Roman Reigns later tonight? Probably. But I think there’s still a real, small chance that Finn Balor becomes Universal Champion for the 2nd time. Booking Lesnar vs. Reigns at Crown Jewel for the Universal Championship, plus The Demon standing tall against The Bloodline yesterday..if WWE intentionally made us think that Balor will fall short of capturing the title with these recent storyline developments and just to stack the odds against him but rewarding as with a surprise title switch, then it’s a genius move. Then again, I’m being overly optimistic here lol. 99.9% the Tribal Chief retains—.1% hopefully I’m wrong.
With AEW gaining ground each day, WWE needs to shake things up. Finn Balor as the Universal Champion might just be what one of the many changes WWE needs to go with.
Congratulations to Big E for finally winning the big one–the WWE Championship! Fans may have been caught off-guard when he openly announced last Monday that he’ll be cashing in later that night against Bobby Lashley. TBH, I was fine with that approach. WWE shouldn’t be promoting a cash-in before a show, since the nature of MITB cash-in 99% of the time is the surprise element. Granted Big E declared his intentions right at the start of RAW, kayfabe-wise, it still made sense since he’s purely a babyface and it gave TV viewers just enough time to catch up with the news and be able to watch a successful championship win at the main event hour.
Regardless of how it was executed, Big E is now WWE Champion, and that’s all that matters. Bobby Lashley had a monster run, and he’ll surely get another reign. For now though, the WWE Universe shall FEEL THE POWER!
I’ve received a couple of requests for an Eddie Kingston Redeem Deez Nuts wallpaper, so here it is. Inspired by ShopAEW’s shirt design, I made a quick design out of it–available in poster and mobile resolutions!
Joining his girlfriend Britt Baker in AEW, Adam Cole is ready to prove once again that he’s someone a serious wrestling promotion can build up on. Despite what the haters say about his size, they can’t deny that this man is super talented not only with his skills but character-wise, too. WWE missed out big time on securing his services for RAW or SmackDown, especially now that they’re severely lacking in main event talent. AEW has completely done a great job of building a new home for talents such as Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson and Ruby Soho.
The former Undisputed Era leader is now All Elite, and you know it’s all about the BOOM! Adam Cole BAY BAY!
