One of the main event matches on this year’s WrestleMania features Chris Jericho, the current World Heavyweight Champion, defending his belt against the Rated R Superstar, Edge. Everyone saw this match coming when Y2J turned his back on the injured Edge last year and sided with Big Show. Inevitably, Edge had to turn face to continue his feud with Jericho and ultimately, Jericho had to win the a championship belt before WrestleMania 26 (which he did on the recent Elimination Chamber PPV) because Edge won this year’s WWE Royal Rumble. Everything became more obvious since then. Then again, who cares? We’ll be getting a five-star main event for sure anyway especially when these two WWE Superstars are involved. The build for their match has been good thus far and the heat will surely pick up in the next few weeks as Edge tries to break Jericho’s walls down and become the World Heavyweight Champion again.
It’s officially WrestleMania season again! It’s that time of the year where wrestling fans and wrestlers alike are all geeked up about wrestling - and this year’s WrestleMania is shaping up nicely to say the least. There are already 4 matches set: MITB, Batista vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship, Chris Jericho vs. Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship and of course, our featured wallpaper for today, Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker for the second time! Wow..and i mean WOW. This match alone should give you enough, if not perfect, reason NOT to miss this WWE PPV. The buildup for this year’s match was well-planned and you could see that they carefully and slowly built the storyline up in the past few months. Nothing was rushed at all so kudos to the WWE creative team for the great job. Personally, I can’t wait for March 28 already. Expectations are definitely higher this time around but I have HUGE faith in these 2 ring generals that they will top their WrestleMania 25 match.

There were rumors that Edge will be at the 30-man Royal Rumble match or at some point after the PPV, but I didn’t expect him to win it! It may not be a surprise to some but I’m think a lot were stunned that he actually won because I’m pretty sure most are expecting Shawn Michaels to win it in order for him to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania 26. Now I dunno how he’ll face Jericho on a main-event match at WM26. I’m guessing Y2J will win the belt from The Undertaker(maybe HBK costing him the match) soon so that Edge can actually continue his feud with Chris Jericho, with the World Heavyweight Championship belt on the line. Ah whatever, Edge is back and SmackDown! is about to get even better!

Even though his recent gimmick (being undressed by his valet Chelsea) looks kinda corny, Desmond Wolfe will eventually be the top guy in TNA someday. Not only is he badass, he’s also equipped with superior wrestling skills, especially in terms of holds and submissions. The Tower of London is devastative too. He’ll be in the same league as Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe and AJ Styles soon, maybe as early as 2nd quarter of 2010. He’s the complete package, not to mention Hogan and Bischoff are high on him. That surely gives him the push he’ll get in the next few months. The Pope is VERY GOOD but I’ll still go with Desmond to carry TNA in the future.

What difference a year makes. Suddenly, the youth movement within WWE has slowly yet steadily started moving again. The obvious beneficiaries of these pushes would definitely be the ones featured in today’s wrestling wallpaper: Drew McIntyre as the Intercontinal Champion, The Miz as the United States Champion and of course, Sheamus as the WWE Champion (aka Cena killer). These guys, with the exception of The Miz to a certain extent, haven’t been that really over with the crowd but were already given HUGE pushes that hopefully they can carry for a long time. They will certainly need these kinds of opportunities to further build their character and wrestling skills so let’s hope they don’t screw themselves around like some did before. Come to think of it, these three guys teamed up on last year’s WWE Survivor Series and their team beat Team Morrison, not to mention that all three of them were the last ones standing in that bout. It boosted their values and now, they’re dominating both SmackDown! and RAW.

Granted a lot has changed since last year, both in terms of talent availability and storylines, I would still think this has a potential to be a good WrestleMania card, especially the triple threat match between Edge, Chris Jericho and CM Punk (c). January 4, 2010 marked a new beginning not only to the possible Monday Night wars in 2-3 weeks time, but also a possible storyline involving Bret Hart and Mr. McMahon that will eventually lead to a WrestleMania 26 match between these 2 HUGE wrestling personalities. Of course, if ever that happens, it’s already obvious that The Hitman will finally get his revenge against Vince. Let’s just hope that Bret can still pull off a decent match especially against a non-wrestler like Vince McMahon.
After burying the hatchet with The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels, I gotta admit, I was a bit disappointed. It lead to lovefest between the two, instead of maybe having them at least attempt their finishers first before finally ending the Montreal incident. Nonetheless, it was still the moment of 2010 so far, yes, TNA put up a huge fight that night but still, the legit animosity between these two icons and the controversy that surrounded their Survivor Series match before were the main selling points of this faceoff and thus the segment automatically got most, if not everyone, of the spotlight that night.
WWE immediately brought a brand new merchandise for The Hitman featuring an updated version of his skull/wings/heart emblem and of course, your Mr. Kupy did his best to make a WWE wallpaper out of it A bit late though but I hope you guys can still appreciate it Kupy Wrestling Wallpapers brings out the first 2010 wrestling wallpaper featuring the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be, Bret “The Hitman” Hart!

January 4, 2009 will either mark a new beginning of WWE vs. TNA..or it’ll be just another weekly WWE domination. Yes, wrestling fans are all excited about the Monday wars again, if it’ll come to fruition that is. Imagine, TNA’s AJ Styles, Angle, Wolfe etc. showcasing their talents on prime time against WWE’s Cena, Orton, DX, etc.? It’ll surely make WWE up the ante in their RAW programming and that can only mean good things for both wrestling promotions and of course, the fans. We’re all winners in this so I really wish this will start a hot feud between the most popular wrestling promotions in the world today. We might see another golden era in professional wrestling.

Yesterday, another young wrestler passed away. Yup, Eddie Fatu (formerly known as Umaga in WWE) suffered 2 massive heart attacks - the first one happened while he was sleeping and the second one occured after the decision made to take him off life support. It was truly a tragedy for the wrestling world. He was a one of a kind athlete, physically strong and very agile for a super heavyweight..and now, we’ll never see him wrestle again.
Looking back, Umaga was just a credible storyline away from being a World Champion. He was totally legit..not until he cooled off after coming back from an injury. The Samoan Bulldozer never regained his steam in Smackdown.
